Mission
The mission of the Medical Advisory Group is to advise the EMS Authority, EMS Authority medical consultants, the EMS Authority Medical Director and EMS Administrators on a variety of EMS issues, including but not limited to:
- patient care standards
- treatment protocols
- triage guidelines
- dispatch standards
- injury control and prevention
- standards and qualifications for on-line medical control physicians
- development of indicators and outcome parameters for quality improvement
- oversight for interfacility transfers
- development of resources to prepare physicians for involvement in California EMS
- standards for facilities
- standards for provider agency medical directors
- standards for mobile intensive care nurses
- the role of physician oversight in activities exclusive of the Scope of Practice Committe
